A Conair Beard Trimmer - More Than a Few Choices

If you are seeking a beard and/or mustache trimmer, and you are thinking of a Conair beard trimmer, the best news is that you have choices. The company once known almost exclusively for its hair dryers now makes a large line of personal care products including no less than eighteen trimmer models suitable to just about any budget. Conair's five best-selling beard trimmers, in fact, range in price from $12.99 to $31.99.

The former offers quite a few accessories for such a low price, including but not limited to a five-position attachment comb and an ear-and-nose-trimming attachment, the only model among the company's five best-sellers to include the second of those options. This trimmer, Model GMT100RQCS, comes in flat black, runs on a pair of AA batteries and includes a mounting stand that can also hold all attachments and accessories including its cleaning brush. The latter of those two models, GMT235CSV, has a more stylish silver-and-black appearance and features a five-position pivoting head. It also includes wide-facial, trimming, and fine-detailing blades, two adjustable and three jawline combs, mustache comb, and rechargeable in cordless mode, plus lubricating oil and a cleaning brush.

Priced between those two is GMT170XCS. In black with silver trim, for $15.99 this trimmer includes a five-level adjustable comb, three jaw combs, mustache comb, a stand holding trimmer and attachments, and lubricating oil with cleaning brush. However, those men who prefer the sports look may want to have a look at Model HCT420CSV. In yellow with black trim, including a tire-like heel, this model features a 24-piece kit with two blades including regular hair cutting, nine attachment combs, three jaw combs, and a five-level attachment comb, plus mustache and styling combs, trimming scissors, barber cape, blade guard, and a storage pouch. It runs strictly on direct current, however, and prices a dollar below Model GMT235CSV.

The fifth of the company's best-sellers, Model GMT182XCSZ, prices at $26.99 and features three blade sets including fine detailing and wide-swath, two five-position combs, three jaw combs, and a hold-all accessory and trimmer mounting stand. This rechargeable model has received numerous positive reviews and, as company literature touts, a nomination from FHM magazine's 2006 Grooming Awards as the best of its kind.

Check Out Wahl 9906-717 Groomsman Cordless/Battery Operated Beard and Mustache Trimmer for $11.90

Wahl 9906-717 Groomsman Cordless/Battery Operated Beard and Mustache Trimmer Review

The Wahl clipper does what it should, especially at the price. I think that it will run a long time on the AA batteries. I prefer this over the rechargeables that are never charged when you need them and eventually wear out. It trims well and is well made for the price.

What I DON'T like:
1) The clipper head tines are flat on the end instead of tapered, so you have to go over your beard several times to clip it all. The tines do not comb the hairs into the slots to be cut, at least not very well.
2) The plastic attachments work well at setting the clip height, but they are VERY hard to get on and off - I feel that I am going to break one every time I remove it. Not well designed. There is one attachment that is adjustable - I leave that on most of the time to minimize removal, but I still have to take it off to use the bare head for close trimming.
3) The base unit does not hold all the attachments very well - they are always scattered around my counter.

Would I buy one again - probably - this is still a very good deal. I do expect to break one of the plastic attachments in the near future. I'll bet that they are not available separately!

Great product--good price - Royal Chamberlain - Rochester, NY
This was a replacement for another Wahl trimmer that broke after being dropped. This one offers several advantages:
1. It is very light weight and well balanced.
2. The cutting action is very smooth and clean.
3. It has a stand with several accessories.
4. It uses standard AA batteries (easily to replace) instead of a special size battery.

About Dehumidifiers

Humidity directly influences the airborne allergens like mites and mold at home. These thrive very well in humid conditions and decreasing humidity below 50% can rid your home of such allergens. For this purpose a dehumidifier is just the thing for they remove moisture from air, thereby keeping your equipment, wood, art from deteriorating and keeping your allergies at bay. If there is mildew-like odour at your home along with condensation on walls and floors, wet spots on ceilings etc. then it is time you consider a dehumidifier for your home.

There are certain things to keep in mind before settling for a dehumidifier for your home. The prime one is the moisture removal rate, which indicates just the same - how much water can it remove in a given amount of time. The petite, portable ones remove about 6 to 20 ounces whereas the higher range whole house dehumidifiers can do about up to 100 pints a day. It also depends upon the location and range you want the humidifier to wok in. Equally important is the temperature range. Some can work brilliantly even at 33 degree F while the moderate ones can do well at 55 to 95 degree F. A humidistat indicates the humidity and some dehumidifiers come with in built adjustable controls for the same. The energy consumed by these appliances is crucial as they work all day long. Ideal dehumidifiers use about 50 to 200 watts energy.

Some dehumidifiers come with additional features like a heater, fan and removable filter or all-in-one. The noise level is definitely a concern for those who don't like the noise of any appliance running while they sleep. Dehumidifiers do emit noise as they have a fan and a compressor functioning continuously. Those that drain water continuously are hassle-free and so are the ones with the anti-frost option; they shut off when frost begins to accumulate. An easy to remove bucket and a water level control are useful in handling the device. In the same way, a full tank indicator allows emptying the water tank before it becomes too full. Portable ones should have a handle to carry it around and also look for those with a washable or removable air filter.

And good cast iron cookware will last a life time. Cast iron skillets have been handed down from generation to generation. Rita's favorite cast iron skillet was handed down from her mother and is at least 100 years old. This video shows you how to season cast iron skillet using a bit of vegetable oil and a few hours in a warm oven. Rita also shows you how to care for your cookware, clean your skillet and re-season it.
